On December 10, the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Science and Technology Innovation Conference, themed around encouraging innovation and recognizing outstanding achievements, was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During the event, the winners—both organizations and individuals—from China's petroleum and chemical industry for the year 2019 were announced and honored. Attendees included Li Shousheng, President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation; Zhou Zhuye, Vice President; Li Bin, Vice President; Hu Qianlin and Pang Guanglian, Deputy Secretaries-General; Cao Yaofeng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and senior member of the Science and Technology Committee of Sinopec Group; Su Yinao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Director of the Energy and Mining Division of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; as well as Duan Xue, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The conference was chaired by Zhou Zhuye, Vice President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.
The conference announced and honored the organizations and individuals recognized for their scientific and technological innovations in China's petroleum and chemical industry in 2019.
Xuyang Group was honored with the title of "Demonstration Enterprise for Technological Innovation in China's Petroleum and Chemical Industry" for 2019; meanwhile, the project titled "Research and Development of Key Technologies for Preparing High-Performance Aluminum Pigments and Their Application in Mirror-Like Inks," jointly completed by Xuyang Group, Hefei University of Technology, Anhui University, and other partners, won the third prize of the "Science and Technology Progress Award."

At this conference, Li Shousheng, Chairman of the Petrochemical Federation, reviewed the industry's scientific and technological achievements since the 13th Five-Year Plan period. Over the past three years, a total of 139 scientific and technological achievements across the industry have won national-level awards, accounting for 16.8% of the industry's 826 projects overall. Additionally, 607 achievements received the Federation's Science and Technology Award. Meanwhile, 28 enterprises were recognized as National-Level Enterprise Technology Centers, and 36 companies were designated as National Demonstration Enterprises for Technological Innovation. Furthermore, the National Development and Reform Commission has accredited 30 National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratories and Engineering Research Centers.
