Product Applications

 

Chemical Properties and Characteristics

1. In electrochemistry: Zinc is more reactive than iron and undergoes a chemical reaction in the electrolyte, transforming into a solution that protects the iron.

2. Sealing Performance: Due to the corrosion products of zinc powder—primarily basic zinc carbonate, which deposits between the zinc powder particles, filling the gaps among the pigments while remaining non-conductive—this effectively seals the coating.

3. Barrier Effectiveness: Due to the flaky zinc powder being arranged parallel to the coating surface within the film, with layers overlapping and interweaving, it significantly increases the distance water and corrosive media must travel to penetrate through the coating, thereby enhancing the coating's anti-corrosion performance.

 

The flaky structure exhibits a significantly larger specific surface area compared to the spherical structure. Correspondingly, in coating formulations, a higher content of binder and a lower pigment volume concentration (PVC) can be used, making it easier to tailor the coating performance to suit specific application areas.
