How is mirror silver made? With the rapid advancement of industrialization, the market for aluminum pigments has steadily expanded, and more and more products have found their way into households. Chances are, you’ve already heard of mirror silver—so, friends watching right now, do you know how it’s created? Let’s learn together next!
 How is mirror silver made?
How is mirror silver made? First, let’s get acquainted with what mirror silver actually is. Also known as vacuum-aluminum-plated suspension fluid, mirror silver is a type of metallic pigment that earns its name from its unique, brilliant reflective effect and exceptional imaging performance. The average particle size (D50) of the aluminum flakes in mirror silver typically ranges from 5 to 12 micrometers, with flake thickness measured in nanometers. This results in outstanding surface coverage and brightness, allowing users to achieve superior mirror-like effects even with minimal application.
Mirror silver is produced using high-purity aluminum wire as the raw material, employing a unique vapor-phase metallization process to create a non-floating mirror silver pigment. This process involves depositing an aluminum film under vacuum and then applying ultrasonic cavitation in a槽液 (槽 liquid) solution, which separates the aluminum film from the PET substrate, resulting in aluminum flakes of varying sizes with exceptionally smooth, mirror-like surfaces. The detached aluminum flakes are subsequently subjected to high-speed cutting and grinding, followed by centrifugation and pressure filtration to form a filter cake. Finally, the cake undergoes kneading and surface treatment to yield the finished product.
That’s all for the knowledge about "How mirror silver is made." We hope it was helpful—stay tuned for more exciting industry insights in our next installment!
