1. Aluminum Pigment Specifically for Plastics
Silver strips are composed of aluminum powder, additives, and a carrier material. The aluminum powder (also known as aluminum flakes) within the silver strips appears in tiny, coin-shaped or cornflake-like forms, with thicknesses ranging from 0.1 μm to 2 μm and diameters between 5 and 200 μm. Aluminum accounts for about 80% of the silver strip, while the remaining 20% consists of the carrier material and additives. Notably, these silver strips can withstand high temperatures of up to 280°C (for 5 minutes) when embedded in plastics.
Xuyang's aluminum pigments specially designed for plastics deliver a range of metallic effects in plastic applications. They achieve an all-around solid silver-metallic appearance and mesmerizing metallic hues, and when combined with color powders, they enable versatile color combinations—greatly enhancing the added value of plastic products.
2. Aluminum Silver Paste
Aluminum silver paste is widely used in our daily lives—it’s a metallic pigment composed primarily of countless tiny aluminum flakes, creating a silvery metallic effect when incorporated into coatings, inks, and plastics. When combined with other pigments, it can even produce metallic effects in complementary colors like gold. Notably, the diameter of aluminum silver paste particles is significantly larger than that of conventional pigments used in coatings. While typical coating pigments have particle sizes comparable to the wavelengths of visible light, the unique, flake-shaped pigments responsible for special metallic effects usually measure between 5 and 60 micrometers in diameter.
3. Aluminum Silver Powder
Aluminum silver powder, commonly known as silver powder, is actually flake-shaped silver powder—a metallic powder material used in coatings and printing applications. Produced by processing spherical aluminum powder through steps such as ball milling, classification, coating, and polishing, this flaky powder boasts excellent hiding power and a brilliant metallic sheen. Coarse-grained products are ideal for industries like paints and decorative coatings, while fine-grained aluminum silver powder is perfectly suited for printing techniques such as screen printing, gravure printing, offset printing, and letterpress printing. When silver powder is mixed with silver oil or clear varnish, it transforms into high-quality silver ink or silver paint with exceptional metallic luster—making it widely applicable across industries including packaging printing, coatings, and textiles. Beyond these uses, it can also be employed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of various products and packaging by applying gold-like effects, sprinkling silver particles, or coating surfaces onto plastics, paper, fabrics, and even decorative objects and environmental designs.
4. Pearl Pigment
Pearl pigments are composed of mica coated with thin layers of several metal oxides. By varying the metal oxide layers, different pearlescent effects can be achieved. Compared to other pigments, pearl pigments boast a unique, soft, and lustrous sheen that is simply unmatched. Their distinctive surface structure, combined with a high refractive index and excellent transparency, allows them to produce a shimmering effect in transparent media—mirroring the mesmerizing glow of real pearls.
